It was the worst of times. A large Philistine army outnumbered the Israelites substantially. Armed with faith in God, two men take on an entire army...and win.
It is one thing to stand in battle alongside thousands of soldiers. It is another to stand in battle against thousands of soldiers, alongside one other. Yet that is exactly what Jonathan did. Armed with a faith in God stronger than any army, Jonathan developed a plan to attack his nation's aggressors and to trust God with the outcome. The result is one of the Old Testament's greatest examples that some wars are God's to fight.
